Description

✦ The Plantry Plant Co. ✦

"Look at how the fenestrations open up, leaf after leaf — the esqueleto doesn't do subtle. Where the adansonii punches neat ovals, this one hollows the leaf out until there's more window than wall." — Mr. Phileas Plant

The Plant

Monstera esqueleto (long sold as Monstera epipremnoides) is the collector's fenestrated monstera — large leaves so deeply perforated that the remaining tissue reads as a lattice. It's a genuine step up from the common adansonii in both leaf size and drama, and the fenestrations only get bolder with each new leaf as the plant matures.

This is an established, rooted vine showing that signature open lacework, in a cup of Fluval Stratum. Give her a pole and the leaves get dramatically larger and more perforated with each one that follows.

Care at a Glance

☀️ Light: Bright indirect. Direct afternoon sun will scorch those thin leaf sections.
💧 Water: When the top inch of substrate is dry. She likes steady moisture — never soggy.
🌡️ Humidity: Appreciates 60%+ — humidity is what drives the big fenestrated leaves.
🪴 Soil: Established in Fluval Stratum.
📏 Growth: Climbing vine — she needs a pole to size up properly.
⚠️ Toxicity: Toxic if ingested — keep away from pets and children.
