Description

✦ The Plantry Plant Co. ✦

"Every Batik leaf is its own little weather map — silver fog rolling in over green, no two patterns quite alike. This one is a showpiece, marbled nearly edge to edge, the kind of leaf you photograph before you even think about watering it." — Mr. Phileas Plant

The Plant

Syngonium podophyllum 'Batik' is an arrowhead vine prized for the pale, marbled variegation that washes across its arrow-shaped leaves — sometimes a fine network of veins, other times, as on this specimen, broad silvery patches that nearly overtake the green. Young plants hold a compact, bushy form before easing into a climbing or trailing habit as they mature.

This specimen carries several established arrow-shaped leaves, each with strong, dramatic silver marbling, rooted in a cup of Fluval Stratum. Syngoniums are fast and forgiving growers — pinch her back to keep her bushy, or let her climb and the leaves will lobe out further with age.

Care at a Glance

☀️ Light: Bright indirect — keeps the silver patterning sharp. Tolerates medium light.
💧 Water: When the top 1–2" of substrate is dry; she likes steadier moisture than a pothos.
🌡️ Humidity: Appreciates 50%+ but adapts to average household air.
🪴 Soil: Established in Fluval Stratum.
📏 Growth: Bushy when young; climbs or trails as it matures.
⚠️ Toxicity: Toxic if ingested — keep away from pets and children.
