Description
⚠️
Winston Flagged. Toxic to cats and dogs if chewed or eaten, and irritating to humans too — the leaves carry calcium oxalate crystals that cause immediate mouth and throat irritation. Keep it up and out of reach of pets and little hands. If a pet gets into it, call your vet or the ASPCA Poison Control line (888-426-4435) right away.
✦ The Plantry Plant Co. ✦
"Observe the great leaf on the left — it has simply declined to remain whole, and cut itself a window or two for the view. Above it, young growth climbs on, still in its gold. A plant in the middle of a transformation is a rare and rewarding thing to bring home." — Mr. Phileas Plant
The Plant
The Epipremnum pinnatum 'Aurea Variegata' is a climbing aroid with glossy green leaves marbled and splashed in gold and cream, and no two leaves marked alike. Given a pole and good light, its leaves grow larger and begin to split and perforate, so the plant changes character as it climbs.
This is a tall, upright plant whose largest leaf is already splitting and carrying small perforations, with fresh gold-marbled growth climbing above it. It is rooted in a pot of Fluval Stratum and ready for a pole.
Care at a Glance
☀️ Light: Bright indirect — good light keeps the gold variegation vivid.
💧 Water: When the top inch of substrate is dry. Rooted in a no-drainage pot, so water sparingly.
🌡️ Humidity: Appreciates 50%+ but adapts to average household air.
🪴 Soil: Established in Fluval Stratum.
📏 Growth: Climbing vine — give it a pole and the leaves grow larger and more split.
⚠️ Toxicity: Toxic if ingested — keep away from pets and children.
