The Plant
The Hoya carnosa 'Chelsea' is a compact cultivar of the classic Wax Plant, distinguished by glossy, deep-green leaves that curl and dimple into a quilted, cupped shape. Slower-growing and denser than a standard carnosa, she builds into a full, sculptural trailing plant — and with maturity, produces the same fragrant, porcelain-pink flower clusters the species is loved for.
This is a small, affordable starter, rooted in a clear cup of Fluval Stratum, so you can see a healthy root system for yourself. As pictured, one leaf has a small notch along its edge. Like all hoyas, she stores water in those succulent leaves and would rather be forgotten than fussed over.
