The Plant
Hoya fungii — one of the Wax Plants — is a vigorous, easy-growing hoya from the forests of southern China and Vietnam, recognised by its broad, leathery, deep-green leaves marked with a paler midrib and a scattering of fine silver flecks. A robust grower and a generous bloomer once settled, with creamy, star-shaped flowers that carry darker centres.
This is a smaller rooted cutting than our full specimens — several established leaves already showing that signature silver speckling, rooted in a cup of Fluval Stratum. Train her up a trellis or let her trail from a shelf; either suits her. Care is genuinely low-fuss — she'd rather be forgotten than fussed over, and stores water in those succulent leaves to prove it.
Care at a Glance
☀️ Light: Bright, indirect. The brighter the light (short of harsh midday sun), the better — and the likelier the blooms.
💧 Water: When the top inch of substrate is dry. She prefers to run dry over wet.

📏 Growth: Trailing or climbing — fast and vigorous with support or a hanging spot.
