The Plant
Peperomia obtusifolia — the Baby Rubber Plant — is a compact, thick-leaved peperomia with glossy, rounded, deep green leaves on sturdy reddish stems. Despite the name it is no relation to the true rubber plant: it stays small and tidy, and stores water in those fleshy leaves the way a jade plant does, which makes it remarkably forgiving of a missed watering.
These are healthy, rooted plants with an upright habit and plenty of glossy leaves, in a clear cup of Fluval Stratum so you can see the roots for yourself. An easy, low-cost plant that suits a shelf or desk.
