Description

✦ The Plantry Plant Co. ✦

"Named for Roberto Burle Marx, the Brazilian landscape architect who taught the world that native plants could be the point rather than the filler. Fitting that his namesake is a philodendron that asks for nothing and fills a corner beautifully." — Mr. Phileas Plant

The Plant

Philodendron Burle Marx is a clumping, self-heading philodendron with glossy, elongated heart-shaped leaves on long petioles. It grows outward into a dense mound rather than climbing, making it one of the easier philodendrons to keep in a fixed spot.

This one is a rooted plant with established leaves in a clear cup of Fluval Stratum. Quick to fill out, tolerant of most household conditions, and a solid first philodendron for anyone moving on from pothos.

Care at a Glance

☀️ Light: Bright indirect. Tolerates medium light with slower growth.
💧 Water: When the top inch of substrate is dry. Consistent moisture suits her, but never soggy.
🌡️ Humidity: Content in average household air; appreciates a little extra.
🪴 Soil: Established in Fluval Stratum.
📏 Growth: Clumping and spreading — fills out rather than climbing.
⚠️ Toxicity: Toxic if ingested — keep away from pets and children.
