Philodendron Burle Marx — Large
Description
✦ The Plantry Plant Co. ✦
"Big leaves on long petioles, already arching out the way a mature Burle Marx does. This is the size where the plant stops looking like a cutting and starts looking like furniture." — Mr. Phileas Plant
The Plant
Philodendron Burle Marx is a clumping, self-heading philodendron with glossy elongated leaves held out on long petioles. Left to grow, it forms a dense spreading mound — dramatic in a wide pot and very forgiving along the way.
This is the largest Burle Marx in the batch: well-developed leaves on a strong root system, in a clear cup of Fluval Stratum. Pot her into something wide rather than deep and she'll spread.
Care at a Glance
☀️ Light: Bright indirect. Tolerates medium light with slower growth.
💧 Water: When the top inch of substrate is dry. Consistent moisture suits her, but never soggy.
🌡️ Humidity: Content in average household air; appreciates a little extra.
🪴 Soil: Established in Fluval Stratum.
📏 Growth: Clumping and spreading — give her width rather than height.
⚠️ Toxicity: Toxic if ingested — keep away from pets and children.
